# TandemParty

> TandemParty is a watch-together service that keeps a video in sync for a group of friends. Playback (play, pause, seek) stays synchronized for everyone in a room, with live text chat and reactions alongside the video. For YouTube, VK Video and RuTube nothing has to be installed — opening the room link in any browser is enough, including on a phone. A Chrome extension extends the same rooms to twelve more streaming services, and to a second format: short vertical video feeds (TikTok, VK Clips, YouTube Shorts), where one person at a computer scrolls the feed and the clip changes for everyone at once. TandemParty does not host or provide any content — it only synchronizes playback, and every participant watches on their own account on the chosen service.

Key facts:

- Two ways to watch. On the site: YouTube, VK Video and RuTube play inside the room page itself, in any modern browser, desktop or mobile, with no installation. With the extension: Chrome, Yandex Browser, Microsoft Edge and other Chromium browsers add Kinopoisk, Netflix, Prime Video and the rest of the supported services.
- Two formats. Regular videos, movies and shows in a room, and short vertical video feeds where the feed itself is shared. In the feed format exactly one participant (the host) must be at a computer with the extension; everyone else joins by link from a phone or a computer with nothing installed.
- No mobile app exists and none is needed. Phones either watch directly on the site or act as a remote control via a QR code.
- Account: required. Registration takes under a minute (email + one-time code). The code is delivered on Telegram if the account is linked, otherwise by email.
- Room size: up to 2 participants on the free plan, up to 15 on Premium.
- Creating a room: from the extension on a video page, or by sharing a video link with the Telegram bot @tandemparty_bot, which replies with a ready invite link.
- Core features: synchronized play/pause/seek, in-room text chat, reactions and stickers (Premium), profile customization (Premium), phone-as-remote via QR code, resuming from the room's saved timecode, automatic reconnection after a dropped connection.
- Languages: Russian, English, German, Spanish. Localized pages use the `/en/`, `/de/`, `/es/` path prefixes; unprefixed URLs are the Russian (default) versions and serve as canonical.
- Not a content provider: TandemParty synchronizes playback only. Each participant must independently have access to the chosen streaming service and its content.
